Day not sure because my counting is messed up

Image
Today I was slow because the only thing I had to do was complete my comments left on my concentration paper. Anyways, I woke up this morning at 8:30am and got dressed quickly because I was excited to go to dunks with my advisory. Around 9:15 I walked over to meet my advisory in front of Maxwell savage. This was definitely the best way to start my day. After that I went to the studio before walking over to the theatre for the final season seminar. Then I went to jakes with Hailey and got some yummy food! Quesadillas are were its at. Later in the afternoon after I had procrastinated a little possibly too long. I finally sat down and completed the comments...there was not many at all. After that I had dorm clean up and do not think I have ever poured more chunky milk in my life than I did today. GROSS. Then I enjoyed the final bits of sunshine and went swimming with Alex and Hannah.

Day 12

I finished. I am done. Two years of stress, tears, anger and so much more is done. I woke up this morning and took a shower and got ready for the day. I definitely had a pep in my step this morning as I could not wait to be officially done...well basically still need to do the comments Tom Morgan left on my paper. I walked over to the projection room around 11:25 because my exit interview started at 11:30. I walked in the door of the lower library by the tech office and was greeted by a white board that read "Nice Job Paulina!" My face lite up. I walked in the door of the projection room and sitting in a horse shoe shape was Tom, Heidi, Ellie and Kyle. Not going to lie that was intimidating to walk into. I sat down at what one could call the head of the horse shoe. Tom started off by telling me that I had passed and gave me compliments on how I did my podcast and used my very personalized theme throughout. Heidi asked me a few questions about advice I would give future stude

Weekly reflection

Paulina Shea Weekly reflection Sunday May 24th 2021 This week was crazy. Not only was I going to be finishing my concentration paper, public demo, and narrative reflection. I also had my last four performances on the Proctor stage. First I cannot help myself but talk about how much appreciation I realized I had for the Proctor theatre department this past week. I mean, I have always loved everyone involved, but sitting backstage during tech rehearsals and the real performances I realized how much I have grown. From the fall 2017 dance show to my senior show of Mamma mia. I have become more confident in letting myself go on stage and just dance my heart out. And although I still get a little nervous, the nerves are not nearly as strong as my freshman year. Infact last night I sat in the yellow staircase backstage with Libby and Karin with tears in my eyes explaining that I remember sitting in that same spot my freshman year crying because of my nerves, and last night I sat there crying

Day 11

Today I did my public demo to Ellies class Identity literature. Which went really well I hope the students gained something from it. After that I went to lunch with Ellie, Calista and Ella. Then I walked over to the hockey rink to get my second dose of the vaccine, hopefully I don't get sick tomorrow. After that I went to my dorm and started my narrative reflection for my concentration, I cannot believe how close I am to done! Two years later, the concentration may be the most rewarding thing I have done. After that I took a nap and at 4:30 went over to the theatre for night three. Now I sit back stage slipping through my fingers is playing right now but the show has been amazing.

Day ten

Today I was so excited because after two years I am basically done with concentration! I woke up this morning and did a review of my slideshow. Then I walked over to the studio to meet up with Cameron, Hannah, Alex, and Hailey before walking over to the meeting house for senior seminar. Which I found this one very informative and inspiring it some extent. After that I had a meeting with Ellie to finalize the plan for my presentation to identity literature tomorrow...so excited! Then I went to lunch with Rachel, Cameron, and Hailey so fun as usual. After lunch I came back to my dorm and wrote a few more notecards for my presentation and edited the three clips of my podcast together to share during my presentation tomorrow. Then as usual I had another AMAZING PERFORMANCE OF MAMMA MIA!

Day nine...emotional

Image
Today was stressful, sad and excited at the same point. I woke up this morning and showered. After that I walked over to the library to work on my concentration paper with Valerie. Then around 11:30am I walked over to grab and go with Hailey, then we sat on the turf and enjoyed our sun butter and fluff sandwiches and enjoyed the sun! After that I went back to the dorm and relaxed a bit before cleaning and getting ready to head over to the theatre to get glammed for opening night! This was when the emotions hit. I cannot believe its been four years and I have spent all of it in the theatre with some of my favorite people. I have grown a lot personally, becoming a more confident actor, dancer and general person. Will never be able to express my gratitude for everyone in the theatre. Seeing the Proctors post about the 2021 bricks only made the bittersweet realization bigger. I began to cry and was immediately comforted by Helen, Calvin and Libby. I am for sure going to cherish these next

Day 8

Image
Woke up today and immediately felt way more productive then yesterday. Today I decided to go to advisory. I had. Told Sarah that I would stop by a meeting or two. In advisory we listened to Emilys concentration presentation which was really interesting. After that I came back to my dorm, sat on the porch and began to work on my concentration paper. First I reviewed my fathers comments and made some changes that he suggested. Then I went and did all the proper in-text citations. After that I went to Ellie Bullion. Lunch was good, I decided to switch work locations for the afternoon to give myself a change of scenery. So I sat with Katie, Libby, and Ellie under the tree by the wise, They all worked on Algebra two together and did Ellies second round of comments. Along with added pictures to my slide show. Around 2pm, I went back to the dorm to relax before one final dress rehearsal. Come see Mamma Mia tomorrow through Friday!

Day seven!

Image
Today I was a bit lazy the Monday feels were real. I woke up and looked over my paper one more time before sending it along to my father. Then I responded to Ellie about when I will be presenting to Identity Literature. Which we establish I present Friday during G block! So excited to finally share what I have been working on all year. After that I worked on my slide show a bit and created index cards for each slide to make sure there was not too much writing on my slides. Then around 11:45 I walked over to the art studio to meet Alex, Cam, and Hannah for lunch...we ended up having to wait until second because we were a bit late. After lunch, I worked on create an idea for a podcast preview to give my presentation something a bit more. I watched many pro-tip videos on creating a podcast preview. At 4:30 I had the beginning of a long rehearsal. Luckily we got pizza and soda. Then at 5pm it was time to get microphones and costumes on, along with hair done. We had warm ups at 6pm then as

Weekly reflection

This week started off and ended a bit stressful. Getting into the senior project grove was a little weird for me. I woke Monday morning feeling completely disoriented because I did not have to go to classes, which has just become a natural part of my day. Along with the fact that it was up to me to create a schedule and make sure my work gets done. Luckily I was able to create something that works everyday and will follow for the rest of the senior project. Now I know that I am going to wake up at 9 everyday and start working by 9:30-9:45 so I really make the most of my day. To some extent the freedom of working on my time during the day and not having a teacher there every second was weird and sometimes I missed class because being alone was not always fun.  Checking in with Ellie every other day was easy to plan and I felt each meeting was productive because I often had sent her a draft of my podcast the night before. During each meeting we made sure I understood her corrections, r

Day five

Image
Today was average. I woke up around 9am and took a shower. Then I sat outside on the picnic bench by Sally and worked on my paper completing some of Ellies comments. After that I around 11 or so I walked to the field house to meet up with Ellie Bullion for lunch. Lunch was quesadillas which was perfect because I had been wanting a good quesadilla for so long. After that I met up with Hannah, Alex, and Cam and worked on my podcast in the art studio. I added a poem and changed the music in background for the second half of my podcast. And finally figured out my ending...well actually I knew it but was just unsure. Around 4:30 I had rehearsal to block the last scene and received notes about Act 1 and 2. Around 7pm I had rehearsal again and we did the wedding scene and the bow songs, I forgot them. Anyways the day was just normal nothing really happened.

Day 4...eventful

Today was eventful and stressful. I woke up this morning and grabbed my iPad, then proceeded to procrastinate getting out of bed and decided to watch YouTube. Then I woke up and no surprise put different lounge attire on and got back into bed. After that I put my citations along with my annotations into my google doc with the rest of my paper. Then I reached over to my bedside table and grabbed my laptop, praying that it would turn on because it had crashed last night. UPDATE: It did not. Lovely way to start my Thursday morning the day before my podcast for my concentration is due. I began to panic so I jumped out of bed threw on my shoes, mask and ran out the door. I got to tech and Amie was not surprised to see me with my laptop, as the laptop has seen way better days and is continuously problematic. Off the bat Amie could tell the cords that connect my screen and keyboard were breaking. So for an hour we messed around with how to transfer my GarageBand file of my podcast from one c

Day Three

I woke up early today around 8:30 and looked over Ellies comments for my podcast and intro paragraph. Then edited my script for my portion of the podcast. At 9am I walked over to meet Heidi at the library and get a refresher on writing citations and an intro to annotated bibliographies. Then I went back to my dorm and put in my portions of the podcast to make the version more complete. After that I finished putting all my sources into noodletools and on a document in pages (because for some reason my google drive didn't work) I began to draft my annotations. Then around 3pm I went over to the chapel for notes on last nights rehearsal and singing with Alyssa to review Mamma Mia and Does your mother know. At 3:40 I walked over to the dance studio and filmed my solo for my dance independent, which is to Colors of the Wind.  I have included a brief teaser below! Teaser: Colors of the Wind

Day two! it was slow

Image
Today was slow...felt as though I was trudging through mud. I woke at 9:30 to my roommate leaving. Bye Cameron have fun painting! I finally got out of bed at 9:45 and changed into different loungewear...not surprising. I made my bed and picked up my room and then opened my laptop and went to GarageBand and began to listen to the first five minutes of my podcast I had done. After that I imported the second portion of the podcast I needed to edit. Before editing I always listen to what I have so I know what am working with and can plan in my head the organization of the next section. Around 11:17am I went to lunch with Alex, Cam and Zoie. Lunch was my favorite...hamburgers!!! After lunch I went to the art studio and finished editing the podcast, for a change of scenery which was much needed! I finished the podcast or a least editing the two interviews and began to write a script for my portion of the podcast. Around 1:30pm I took a break and played hay day with Calista and then around 3

Senior project day one

Image
Today was a bit stressful because I was just starting my senior project days so I was trying to develop a schedule / routine for the next two weeks. I woke up at 9am and drank some water. Then I grabbed my iPad and opened my concentration document and read my paper over to refresh my mind. My concentration is focusing on the Journey of a Refugee. During Senior Project I will be finalizing and putting everything I have done together that I have been collecting all year. This includes editing a series of interviews with Immigrants and writing a paper about the economic benefits immigrants have. Today I wrote about the jobs immigrants fill when they come into the United States, I also spoke with Heidi about my public demo and making a plan. Then to finish off the day I worked on my podcast.   This picture is me during my break when I hit FOUR PAGES!!! YAY
